We are one of Australia's leading apparel retailers with our head office situated with easy access to public transport.We're seeking a proactive IT Tech Support Engineer to focus on project-based tasks that support and enhance our retail IT systems. This role is ideal for a motivated individual ready to drive the execution of critical IT projects, including system upgrades, network configurations, and hardware installations, to meet the evolving needs of our business.In this hands-on position, you'll play a key role in delivering technology solutions across our 600+ retail outlets and head office, supporting a team of over 250 employees. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment with on-the-job training and development support.Duties:Perform technical tasks in IT projects, including network setups, system migrations, and hardware installations across retail stores in Australia and New Zealand.Execute network infrastructure upgrades, including WAN transitions (ADSL/NBN/UFB) and implementation of SD-WAN, MPLS, and VPN solutions.Install, configure, and troubleshoot POS hardware, EFTPOS systems, and peripherals in retail environments.Support the deployment of new network technologies and ensure compatibility with existing systems.Handle the setup, configuration, and maintenance of VOIP/SIP telephony systems.Implement and maintain Active Directory services for user provisioning, security groups, and permissions in retail environments.Perform detailed testing and validation of hardware, networks, and system configurations to ensure operational functionality.Maintain and update technical documentation related to project work, including configurations, setup procedures, and troubleshooting guides.Assist with hardware asset management and ensure accurate tracking during project work.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to network and system upgrades or deployments.Provide technical input for IT projects and support ongoing improvements to infrastructure and systems.The successful applicants will have:Minimum 3 years of technical experience working in IT support roles, with exposure to project work.Strong technical expertise in WAN technologies such as MPLS, SD-WAN, IPSEC VPN, and connectivity (NBN/ADSL/Fibre/4G).Proven hands-on experience with hardware and network installations, including POS systems and peripherals.Strong knowledge of VOIP/SIP telephony setup and configuration.Proficient in Active Directory for user provisioning and general system administration.Industry certifications such as MCP, MCSA, CCNA, CompTIA or similar are highly desirable.Solid troubleshooting skills with a focus on resolving technical issues efficiently.Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently on technical tasks.Strong communication skills for documenting technical processes and collaborating with internal teams.Retail experience is advantageous but not essential.
