Position Overview: We are seeking an innovative and energetic IT Specialist to join our team.
This role is pivotal in supporting our internal Australian colleagues in technology that enables strategy, innovation, and growth.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, customer service-oriented, and technologically savvy across multiple disciplines, to manage a diverse technology project portfolio.
This position can be located from our Perth, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne location and will report into the Country IT Manager, Australia.
What you'll do: Deliver and coordinate IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality, procedures, documentation, and governance standards.Build and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.Coordinate globally dispersed external vendor relationships and project contributors across network, communications, and our IT Managed Service Provider.Collaborate with Australian business teams in the IT Demand Management process, facilitating demand capture, reviews (architecture, cyber security, privacy) and approval to advance solutions that drive efficiency and growth.Provide exceptional customer service, addressing technical issues and inquiries with professionalism and expertise.Engage with local, regional, and global IT colleagues to align on best practices and share knowledge.Use initiative to propose innovative solutions and improvements to existing processes.Stay abreast of current and emerging IT trends to provide strategic insights and recommendations.Mentor junior team members as required.Who you are: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent industry certifications and experience.Proven experience in IT project management and IT service management (AGILE, PMBOK, PRINCE2, or ITIL experience or knowledge preferred).Experience with project, issue tracking and service management tools such as Atlassian Jira Software, Keto, ServiceNow.Working technical knowledge and experience across multiple IT domains such as Networking, Infrastructure, Cloud, Applications, Telecommunications and Hardware.Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.Exceptional communication and people skills, with a focus on customer service.Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies.Willingness to occasionally travel for short durations within Australia.Desirable: Experience with project, issue tracking, and service management tools such as Atlassian Jira Software, Keto, and ServiceNow.What's in it for you: A work environment where safety is always the number one priority – both your physical and mental health is our priority.A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive program.Additional Annual Leave benefit for all permanent and maximum term employees.Flexibility in your working lifestyle – our team manages their own balance of working from home and in our office environment.Gender Neutral Paid Parental Leave of 18 weeks at full pay.Paid Volunteer Leave so you can give back to the local community or an organisation of your choice.Active Social Club and companywide social events as your social wellness is important to us.Family focused events as your family forms part of our close-knit community.Comprehensive medical benefits including discounted private health insurance for employees and immediate family.Company provided Salary Continuance insurance cover.Career development & education assistance to further your technical and leadership ambitions.Metso is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce culture.
