The Opportunity: Port of Newcastle is seeking to employ an IT Program Manager to oversee and manage the delivery of Port of Newcastle's (PON) IT projects and information systems. The role will be responsible for ensuring that the schedule and delivery of projects is aligned with PON's strategic objectives and overall IT roadmap.

The IT Program Manager provides strong leadership and guidance to the IT team and business stakeholders, ensuring effective project governance, risk management, resource allocation, change management and quality assurance in delivery of outcomes. It is a highly visible and interactive role that requires an elevated level of leadership, collaboration, communication and influencing skills.

Some of the tasks this role is required to do are:

Ensure delivery and execution of IT projects Ensure adherence to proven project management methodologies, solid governance and standards, and use of best practice. Identify potential risks and threats to current and future programs, in collaboration with business stakeholders. Take ownership of program and project budgets and manage spend Ensure project deliverables are transitioned to IT operations and support teams and provide post-implementation support as required Lead and manage the Data Services team. Ensure the architecture of data services is designed, implemented and maintained. Develop and implement data solutions and data warehouse. Negotiate and review IT contracts and agreements and ensure value for money and quality of service. What you will bring: Experience and Qualifications: Essential: Tertiary qualifications in IT, Project Management, or a minimum five years' experience in a similar role. Experience in successfully leading and managing IT programs and projects A proficient understanding of Agile IT project management methodologies, standards, and best practices. A proficient understanding of modern data services and the importance of business intelligence Proficient in managing multiple internal and external stakeholders Strong understanding of emerging technologies in the data, technology and communications sphere and their potential commercial applications. Experience in leading and following change management frameworks Ability to work autonomously without supervision and work effectively in a team. Willingness to support fellow team members as required, irrelevant of the level of work. Analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to research and to apply problem-solving skills to complex technical problems. Desirable Certification and relative experience in Agile Project Management and ITSM.
