The Essential Services Commission is looking for a professional with experience in information technology (IT) to join our Digital Transformation Group in the position of IT Officer. If you are ethical, responsive, accountable, have an inquiring mind and enjoy building inclusive relationships, this position may be for you.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Services, the IT Officer is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, maintenance, and review of internal information management systems and networks to support the operations of the Commission. This includes the provision of general information technology support, maintaining and contributing to the Commission's intranet, website and associated web tools.
To be successful in this position you will have demonstrated experience in implementing system upgrades and enhancements, providing IT system, application and hardware support, applying web development and design, and using the Microsoft suite. The successful candidate will have the knowledge of contemporary information technologies.
Applicants with a tertiary qualification in either Information Technology (or similar) or have the equivalent experience, along with knowledge of the legislation relevant to the Commission, will be highly regarded.
About the Commission
The Commission adds long-term value to the South Australian community by meeting its objective through independent, ethical and expert regulatory decisions and advice. We are a statutory authority established as an independent economic regulator and advisory body to protect the long-term interests of South Australian consumers with respect to the price, quality and reliability of essential services.
Our role incorporates licensing, consumer protection, service standards, pricing, monitoring, compliance and public reporting in the water, electricity and gas industries, and access regulation of essential ports and rail infrastructure. We also provide advice and conduct inquiries to inform the South Australian Government on economic and regulatory policy issues, and provide advice to local government.
