Unique Metals Laser has multiple sites in Australian mainland states that provide high precision laser cutting and fabrication services to a variety of industries.About the role:The IT Manager will lead the IT department in a growing dynamic 300-seat manufacturing business, overseeing essential IT projects stemming from a recent IT systems review. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to guide the company through these projects and ultimately transition to a business-as-usual operational focus. Post-project completion, the IT Manager will ensure the smooth operation, support, and continual improvement of all IT services.Key Responsibilities (Initial Focus)Plan, execute, and oversee key IT initiatives identified from the recent systems review, ensuring timely completion within budget.Evaluate and implement system updates, cybersecurity enhancements, and infrastructure upgrades to support current and future business needs.Work with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and Production, to align IT strategy with business objectives.Liaise with external vendors and internal stakeholders to manage deliverables and integrate solutions effectively.Ensure that all project implementations adhere to regulatory standards, including data security and compliance.Operational IT Management (Post-Project Phase)Ensure robust, secure, and reliable IT systems supporting production and business operations.Oversee day-to-day IT support services, ensuring timely response and resolution to incidents and service requests.Manage, mentor, and support the IT team, including a Systems Administrator and Help Desk Technician.Establish and enforce IT policies, best practices, and standard operating procedures.Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and emergency preparedness protocols.About the candidate:Key Skills and ExperienceStrong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, security, and cloud solutions in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment.Proven experience managing IT projects end-to-end, with a focus on delivering system improvements.Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate IT personnel.Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing issues.Effective communicator able to translate technical requirements and align them with business needs.Experience in managing third-party vendors and negotiating service-level agreements.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or relevant industry certifications, such as PMP, ITIL, or CISSP.5+ years of experience in IT management roles, ideally in manufacturing or industrial sectors.Additional Information$1000 Sign on bonus, payable after successful probation.Rewards and recognition program.Training and ongoing support.Employee Assistance Program incorporating services like Financial Counselling and Nutritional coaching.Company uniform.Please note that candidates must have Australian work rights and will be asked to undergo pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.Unique Laser prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace.Apply now for your opportunity to join Unique Metals Laser, a growing and successful company.
