Working in close partnership with various business units across the Department of Health (DoH), the IT Consultant (Servers) will: Deliver high level technical support in the design, architecting, development, installation, maintenance, upgrade and operational administration of the Department's server and storage infrastructure. Provide leadership, management and coordination of technical activities required to develop, commission, interface, maintain and support IT servers, storage, and systems. Undertake a consultative role to business stakeholders by providing high level technical advice on server and storage architecture, selection, commissioning, integration and operational management and support. The Role: Undertake server and storage selection, commissioning, installation, development testing, integration ongoing maintenance, support, and consultancy to business owners, including the establishment and adherence to backup and disaster recovery processes and procedures and any relevant quality assurance processes. As part of a team, deliver the range of IT systems administration and support functions including the support of operating systems, system software and storage technologies. Provide second and third level specialist technical support to staff that use and support a range of servers and storage. Assist the Team Leader (Servers) to allocate and prioritise activities and projects for staff. Proactively provide technical leadership, including coordinating and mentoring other team members. Position Features Some regular out of hours work, to meet specific needs or deadlines, may be required. Participation in an on-call roster may be required. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required. Details of Appointment Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary: $104,756 - $118,730 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022 Eligibility: Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: Tertiary qualifications in computer science or a related discipline. Current Driver's Licence.
