Period of Appointment Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for three (3) years. Duties Assist with the management of projects and initiatives with responsibility for delivering outputs within time and resources constraints. Interpret and draft policy documents and related legislation to provide advice on national and state road safety issues. Research and analyse policy and legislative issues and provide solutions, proposals and recommendations, either individually or as part of a project team. Develop and effectively implement policy and legislation taking account of the Government's strategic direction and priorities, best practice at state, national and international levels and consistent with the Safe Systems approach to road safety. Provide policy advice to Government, Senior Management and the Road Safety Advisory Council. Assist with promoting awareness of the Safe Systems approach to road safety to internal and external stakeholder with the vision of a Safe Systems approach to building and using Tasmanian roads. Liaise and consult with stakeholders (other agencies, industry, local government and the community) regarding the development and implementation of road safety policy. Prepare draft correspondence, reports, Cabinet Minutes, briefing material and legislative drafting instructions and papers.
