You'll be a big picture thinker who can share ideas and inspire others. You will also enjoy digging into the detail – analysing trends, monitoring competitors, and reviewing company finances.What are some example projects or experiences?Investor relations managers usually work for publicly listed companies. In rail, this could be a large civil construction firm, an asset management firm, a rail freight operator, or other similar organisations. You could find yourself communicating information to investors about an exciting new technology that will help shape the future of rail. Or, you could be advising your organisation on sustainability practices that are required by green investors.What is the work environment like?You'll work in an office, usually in an accounting or legal team. Sometimes you'll be at your desk, creating strategies and frameworks or analysing trends that could impact your organisation. Other times you'll be developing communications to investors, and engaging with investors in person or by phone or email. You may be required to attend meetings or conduct presentations to share your insights. You'll also work closely with other people in the business to develop annual reports, and advise on certain aspects of compliance. You can find work in investor relations all around Australia. Most jobs are in cities and towns.Minimum RequirementsPeople who work in investor relations usually have a degree in business, finance, or accounting. Our industry values diverse personal and work experience. Many employers can provide you with opportunities to gain new qualifications and industry experience to help you succeed.Salaries may vary outside of these ranges, based on company size and location, level of experience, competence and time in role.
