WHO ARE WE?
Cambridge Associates is a leading global investment firm. We work with non-profit institutions, super funds, and family offices as financial advisors to build investment portfolios that help them meet their philanthropic goals, member retirement obligations, or personal endeavors. Our goal is to meet clients wherever they are in the investment process. We offer a variety of services to complement those needs, including acting as an outsourced investment office to providing access to our world-class digital research platform. Committed to independence since our founding more than 50 years ago, we are motivated only by what is best for our clients.
Our clients trust the experience, leadership, and integrity of our investment professionals. We have a global team of outstanding investment portfolio managers/advisors and an extensive research platform to support them. With more than 1,400 employees in eleven locations around the globe, we are constantly looking to discover new ideas for our clients' portfolios. This extensive network helps us to identify and access the best investment opportunities around the globe. Our work focuses on setting investment policies, asset allocations, manager selection, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
At Cambridge Associates, we believe that culture is central to your success and ours. We believe in a vibrant, values-driven culture that is supportive, inclusive and diverse. Here, we get the opportunity to work closely as a local team serving local clients while leveraging our global community. At CA, collaboration wins, kindness matters and we hold true to a culture that enables you to succeed.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Investment Analysts (IAs) work closely as members of 3-4 person client teams in providing support producing investment materials and papers to our clients. Responsibilities include gathering and analysing historical asset allocation, spending, and performance data; evaluating financial histories; analysing investment managers' portfolios; writing investment memos; preparing exhibits and other presentation documentation; and answering client questions and requests. In addition, analysts assist with performance reporting reconciliation, attribution analysis, and investment transactions on behalf of clients. This requires someone with attention to detail, an interest in investment markets, and willingness to contribute with high standards and professionalism within a small team.
Each IA is generally responsible for six to ten clients and handles several projects at once. Every IA is responsible for arranging his or her schedule and priorities in order to meet deadlines; however, there is a strong tradition of teamwork and cooperation among members of the Investment Analysts Group to help manage the workload. Although the position involves quantitative analysis, there is also a strong qualitative component as IAs work to describe market conditions and relay investment recommendations to clients in written reports. As senior professionals may be out of the office during periods of time for client meetings, analysts must be self-motivated and disciplined to maintain high personal and professional standards at all times due to the sophistication of our clients and the tight deadlines that can arise from time-to-time.
SKILLS
• Familiarity with computer databases and spreadsheets, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Being a self-starter and having an inquisitive nature
• Desire to work within a small team
• Brings a positive and productive attitude to work each day
• Motivated and engaged to take ownership of tasks
• Ability to critically problem-solve
• Excellent organizational skills, keen eye for detail, ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree (any major) with a record of high academic achievement (credit average or above)
• Individuals with 0-3 years of work experience are welcomed to apply
• Must be eligible to work in Australia without sponsorship (This position is open for consideration to candidates who are currently based in New Zealand but are willing to relocate to Sydney)
All applications must include a resume AND a cover letter in a single PDF document for consideration. The firm is committed to the concept and practice of equal employment opportunity, and will not discriminate against any employee or applicant on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status. It is expected that all employees will follow a similar policy toward their co-workers.
