Corporate & Commercial Law (Legal)Government - Federal (Government & Defence)Full timeSalary: from $118,925 - $139,100 plus 15.4% superWork on a variety of high-profile market enforcement matters, investigations and litigation including continuous disclosure, insider trading, market manipulation, licensing obligations and misconduct by retail OTC derivatives issuers.Permanent position, Sydney or Melbourne (other locations may be considered), flexible work arrangements and hybrid working (50:50).Salary from $118,925 - $139,100 (depending on experience) + 15.4% superannuation.A future with ASIC means that your work will contribute to ASIC's vision for a fair, strong and efficient financial system for all Australians, with the opportunity to work on matters relating to ASIC's enforcement priorities, including insider trading, market manipulation, continuous disclosure and addressing other misconduct in Australia's financial markets.Our TeamThe Markets Group manages the end-to-end process for regulating markets including supervision, triage, investigation and enforcement.Markets Enforcement is part of the Markets Group and is responsible for taking enforcement action (including disruptive action) on matters such as continuous disclosure, insider trading, market manipulation, licensing obligations and misconduct by retail OTC issuers.Markets Enforcement investigates suspected market misconduct and takes formal enforcement action in response to suspected breaches of the Corporations Act and Market Integrity Rules. This includes commencing civil proceedings, working with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) to secure criminal convictions and taking administrative action through the Market Disciplinary Panel.The RoleAs an Investigator or Lawyer, you will take responsibility to project manage and/or conduct a variety of investigations and litigation leading to enforcement outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team where you will gather evidence, analyse regulatory breaches and work on enforcement actions that uphold market integrity. This includes conducting examinations, interviewing witnesses, participating in search warrants, contributing to building case theories, as well as presenting to executives and the Commission.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have relevant investigative and or litigation experience in financial services, a regulatory environment, law enforcement, criminal or corporate and commercial law. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with an ability to manage complex legal or investigative cases.
