The college runs a highly successful Select Entry Accelerated Learning program: SEAL.
This program allows talented students to work a year in advance of their peers in the core subjects of English, Maths, Humanities and Science.
Student Success We emphasize student success through provision of a comprehensive curriculum and a broad range of year 10 to 12 subjects.
Challenging extra-curricular programs, together with opportunities for personal development and leadership training, cater for a variety of individual needs and enable students to develop social and intellectual strengths.
Role An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction.
This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
Responsibilities As an accredited school, GEC is responsible for the delivery of educational, welfare, accommodation and support services to international students, as per the DET International Student Program Quality Standards.
The International Student Coordinator is a member of the Student Management team and is expected to show commitment to the implementation of the college policies and to the college priorities.
DUTIES INCLUDE:

Assess and respond to international student enrolment applications from the IED Organise and monitor Homestay accommodation and procedures Ensure students/parents have pre-departure information prior to arrival in Melbourne Collect students from Melbourne airport and transport to homestay accommodation Provide support to students to help them adjust to study and life in Australia Follow Critical Incident procedures in the event of a student emergency Assist in providing student orientation and transition from ELC to College Monitor students course progress, attendance and behaviour Notify IED of changes to student enrolments Respond to community/overseas enquiries regarding the ISP Conduct annual ISP self-assessment and student surveys Maintain the International Student page of the College website Attend regional Cluster meetings and ISP Professional Learning Program activities Provide administrative support for sub schools as directed
