Member for Melbourne, Adam Bandt MP is seeking a part-time Constituent Support Officer to join his team based in Melbourne.

Constituent Support Officer Office of Adam Bandt MP Work base: Melbourne, Victoria

Salary range: $73k - $83k p.a.
dependent on experience

Position Overview The Constituent Support Officer will assess and respond to incoming correspondence from constituents, oversee assistance to constituents, and work closely with the Community team on matters relating to NDIS, Centrelink, immigration, housing and other government agencies.
They will use databases including VoterID and will assist in the supervision of volunteers assisting with any element of the role.
The Constituent Support Officer will work closely with the local community within the Melbourne electorate to ensure that they are represented by their local MP, Adam Bandt MP.
Roles and Responsibilities Work with the Community team on constituent work including responding to incoming correspondence from constituents and liaising with Centrelink, NDIS, ATO, Immigration and other government agencies.
Provide support to the team including triaging phone inquiries, emails, and walk-ins to the relevant team member.
Liaising with other Australian Greens Offices about constituent advocacy across the federal Greens team.
Supporting volunteers to assist with constituent management including through training and supervision.
Handling sensitive and confidential information ethically and respectfully.
Linking data and constituent issues to organising priorities.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace, contribute to a safe and respectful workplace culture, and abide by work health and safety laws, policies and procedures.
Undertake training as directed, including induction and safe and respectful workplace training.

Selection Criteria Ability to work as part of a team, under time constraints and tight deadlines, with a high level of independence.
Highly developed written, verbal, organisational and interpersonal communication skills and empathy with constituents facing difficulties Strong analytical skills and demonstrated capacity to comprehend complex issues, think strategically, solve problems and adapt to changing circumstances Relevant qualifications and/or experience in advocacy.
Alignment with progressive Greens values and a commitment to making positive change.
Sound knowledge of Australian Greens' policies and experience distilling complex policy information into clear correspondence.

All employees are expected to sign a confidentiality and code of conduct agreement prior to the commencement of their employment and to undertake any training required in the workplace.
A probationary period of three months, with the option of extending by a maximum of two months, will apply.
