Key Responsibilities:As an ICULNP, you will work both autonomously and collaboratively within an advanced clinical role, including but not limited to:
Comprehensive, holistic clinical assessment and history taking.Initiating and interpreting diagnostic investigations relevant to your scope of practice.Formulating diagnoses and differential diagnoses.Assessing medication history, including adverse drug reactions.Initiating, adjusting doses, and deprescribing medications according to NP legislative requirements.Engaging in complex decision-making for optimal patient outcomes.Developing, evaluating, and reviewing therapeutic management plans.Referring and consulting with relevant healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.Promoting health education and wellness to patients and their families.Essential Qualifications & Requirements:Registered Nurse endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Proven clinical experience within an ICU or similar advanced clinical setting.Demonstrated ability to make independent and complex clinical decisions.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Scope of Practice:The ICULNP role at NHW is guided by a yearly evaluation of services, ensuring the highest standards in terms of quality, safety, effectiveness, and consumer participation. Your scope of practice will be reviewed annually by NHW's scope of practice committee, ensuring ongoing professional growth and development.
