The Legal team is responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including providing legal counsel across the organization, handling disputes, and creating and enforcing intellectual property.Position Overview:This role is instrumental in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of ResMed's IP operations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in IP practice management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.As the IP Operations Management Specialist at ResMed, you will play a pivotal role in the operational and administrative support within the (IP) domain of our Legal Department.
This position entails direct reporting to the Head of Global Legal Operations, with a dotted line to the IP Department, emphasizing the dual focus on supporting IP processes and managing external relationships critical to the department's success.
Your primary responsibilities include overseeing the administrative aspects of patent prosecution, maintenance, trademark processes, and managing external resources to bolster the department's objectives.
Additionally, you will act as the custodian of IP Management systems, ensuring data integrity and streamlined processes.Key Responsibilities:IP records/docketing system
Maintain the integrity of IP data in IP records/docketing system.Administer reports from IP records/docketing system provided to internal stakeholders (Investor relations team and ad-hoc reports).Administer acquisition and disposition (e.g.
abandonment) of IP assets in the IP records/docketing system.Regularly review and arrange import and system upgrades for IP database law updates.Review and process weekly reports from the paralegal and docketing team.Continuously seek process improvements.
IP billings
Work closely with the Legal eBilling function to manage invoices and procurement for IP services.
Outside IP counsel
Onboard new law firms and consultants, ensuring compliance with eBilling and IP management systems.Organize training sessions for new vendors, law firms, and ResMed attorneys on navigating IP management tools.
Virtual patent marking website
Provide reports to IT team to maintain and update the US virtual patent marking website.Facilitate the daily operational support for IP attorneys.Manage the Paralegal and Docketing teams, providing direction and support when needed.Handle correspondence from external counsel and internal stakeholders related to IP matters.Manage IP-related queries and product tagging using specialized software, such as Anaqua and Acclaim.
Qualifications:3-8 years of experience in IP management or a related field.Proficiency in Anaqua IP System, Microsoft Word, and Excel at an intermediate level.Strong communication skills, liaising effectively with internal teams and external partners.Preferred Qualifications:Highly desirable: Over 10 years of experience in a similar role.Familiarity with additional tools, such as Tableau software.Advanced expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel.Joining us is more than saying "yes" to making the world a healthier place.
