We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner with a focus on Intake and Assessment to join our team. Your expertise will help clients navigate the available support systems and ensure they receive the appropriate services.Duties and Capabilities: Conducting comprehensive risk assessments for new clients, explaining available supports and how our services can assist them. Developing and implementing safety plans for clients, tailored to their individual needs and circumstances. Providing secondary consultations to external agencies, helping them navigate the family violence support system and connect with appropriate services. Working closely with clients on their journey through the refuge, ensuring they have access to necessary services and support during their stay. Engaging directly with clients at the refuge, providing personalized and empathetic support.

Skills and Abilities: A degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification is required. (Minimum standard: Recommendation 289). Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practice. A commitment to upholding the values of our organization and providing compassionate, client-centered support. Experience in family violence, crisis intervention, or related settings. Ability to be moulded and supported into the role, with mentorship from experienced practitioners.
