OutsideOur Client has a requirement for an Instrument Inspector, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Deeside.Role Purpose:We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Inspection Specialist to oversee quality checks, testing, and calibration for instrumentation within a significant paper mill project. This role requires collaboration with contractors and manufacturers to ensure all instruments, including transmitters, control valves, DCS/ESD panels, detectors, and safety valves, meet the required technical specifications. The Specialist will be responsible for verifying field and workshop inspections, overseeing materials compliance, documenting non-conformities, and reporting to the client.Job Role Responsibilities:Interpret and apply international standards (IEC, API, NFPA, IEEE) in resolving technical issues.Review and approve contractor ITPs, conduct field inspections, and generate detailed progress reports.Ensure quality checks for all instruments, conduct functional and leakage tests, and validate installations per hook-up drawings.Regularly inspect assembly quantities and verify against project specifications.Coordinate system and site inspections with contractors, producing punch lists, and ensuring NCR closures.Maintain calibration logs for test equipment and oversee safe material handling.Participate in monthly planning meetings and update project progress reports.Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years' experience in instrumentation inspection within industrial projects.Strong understanding of inspection standards and a high level of technical competency in calibration and functional testing of instruments.Ability to work independently in both field and workshop environments.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on detailed reporting.Valid driving license and personal protective equipment as per industry standards.This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure the quality and compliance of key project phases and instrumentation systems in a high-stakes environment.
