Eurofins Environment Testing Australiais an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 200 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.
Job DescriptionFull time, permanent position based in Girraween, NSWMonday - Friday, both day and afternoon shift availableExtra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of pay rateReporting to the Section Supervisor, this position will be accountable for but not limited to:
Perform routine analytical, physical tests and sample preparation as required.Control own work flows.Ensure samples are tested in a timely manner, completed, and integrity of results maintained.Ensure correct methods are used and adhere to.Ensure working solutions of chemicals are prepared and maintained at appropriate quantities and quality.Calibrate and maintain instruments, ensuring maintenance logs are kept up to dateMaintain appropriate training records.Ensure correct quality control procedures are used and adhere to.Identify and report quality issues and implement the corrective and preventative actions.Perform all of the analysis assigned, including calculations.Prepare any QC samples, CRMs standards or any other QC required.Monitor, encourage and support laboratory technicians as required.Set a good example in regard to work ethics to other staff.Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time. QualificationsTo be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following:
Experience using GC-MS,GC-FID, ICPMS,Auto Titrator and similar analytical instruments is preferred.Experience using instrument software relating to analytical instruments is preferredMinimum 2 years of laboratory experience, is preferred.Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Science, will be an advantage.Good knowledge of standard MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.General knowledge about systems, and production control.General preference and comfort in technical environments. Good communication skills – verbal and written.Desire to continually learn and improve.Ability to be a hands-on hard worker and a 'doer' with a common sense approach.Naturally strong abstract reasoning skills.Alignment with Eurofins Leadership Charter, Mission, Vision and Values.Additional InformationAll candidate CV's and cover letter's will be reviewed, however please note that we are not always able to respond to every expression of interest submitted.
