We continue to remain at the forefront of the testing services industry, building an enviable reputation.About the RoleALS Inspection is seeking an Inspector to assist in establishing our service in Port Pirie and to supervise the inspection of vessels through the delivery of on-time, quality results and by maintaining strong working relationships with clients. Reporting to the Operations Manager based in Townsville, the role will primarily be responsible for supervising the inspection of incoming ships, as well as monitoring and maintaining Quality and Safety compliance, when the ships are in port (approximately 4-5 days per vessel, 3-4 vessels per month).The day to dayThis position will have the following responsibilities:4-5 days to load discharge vesselStock inspectionRoster (as needed) and supervise casual staffLiaise with clients to effectively manage existing and projected workflowsMonitor and review quality, safety and productivity statisticsPerform maintenance of any equipment used, ordering and stock takeStrong health and safety focusEnsure all tasks are completed in accordance with QWI, NATA and ISO requirementsReport safety incidents per company procedures.The EssentialsThe successful candidate will possess:Experience in any role on the port (preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided)Demonstrated supervisory experienceAbility to work shift work (round the clock supervision when vessel is in port – in conjunction with casual staff)Reliable and an exceptional work ethicExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent organisational skillsAbility to prioritise and organise tasksComputer literacyLocal to Port Pirie (this is not a FIFO or DIDO role due to the hours and flexibility required).Full training will be provided, and growth potential and career development is available to the right candidate.Working at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.
