We're InLife, a not-for-profit disability support provider that specializes in working with people with frequent and complex support needs, including 24/7 assistance.
We build teams around every client, depending on each person's needs and preferences.
We partner with people with any type of disability who want to live independently in the community (and we love to make that happen!).
That's why our assistants are so important.
Our clients may have physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, intellectual disabilities, or autism.
We're honored that many of our clients rely solely on InLife for their essential support needs.
Nobody else.
Just us.
Our teams are based in Melbourne, Geelong, and regional Victoria, including Benalla, Wangaratta, Stawell, and Bendigo.
To do a great job, you'll need:
Good judgement and common sense, listening skills, a willingness to learn and a commitment to our values.
Experience with catheter care, peg feeding, and bowel care.
Experience in seizure management (midazolam trained).
Experience in personal care (showering and dressing) assistance with domestic duties.
Experience supporting people with a physical disability, including transfers/use of equipment and confidence in hoisting.
Great patience and a willingness to put in the time and energy to build rapport with your client.
Experience in mental health and behaviours of concern would be an advantage but not essential.
Enthusiasm and passion for supporting people with disabilities to live great lives.
Commitment to working with a care team approach, including guidance from professionals, for example, supporting our clients to complete a regular physiotherapy program.
Full driver's licence and willingness to provide transport in your own vehicle sometimes (we reimburse you for costs).
Willingness to work varied shifts with varied hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, together with some short shifts, sleepovers, and active night shifts.
We also need you to be able to commit to ongoing shifts, based on your availability.
Please note - when you apply you will receive an email asking you for some further details - please look out for it!
As part of our recruitment process, certain checks will be undertaken with your permission, including an NDIS Worker Screening Check that you must have before you can start work.
We encourage all of our staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19, and current recommendations about vaccination can be found on the ATAGI website.

Opportunity for career progression - a clear career path for assistants who want to progress into team leader or coordinator roles.
A word about diversity and inclusion
At InLife, diversity and inclusion are part of our DNA.
We celebrate the amazing differences we all bring to our work and actively ensure that everyone feels safe and supported in our workplaces.
We welcome and encourage applications from everyone, and our hiring decisions will never be based on things such as your gender identity, disability, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or cultural background - because they simply aren't relevant to doing an awesome job (and you are protected from this kind of discrimination under Australian law).
We also know that we continue to learn more about inclusion every day, so if there is something you think we could do differently to make InLife a place you could picture yourself working, we're all ears.
