About the Opportunity The Injury Services and Safety Specialist is responsible for fostering a strong focus on care and HSE excellence within Serco's Australian Defence Force Health Services Contract (AHSC). This national role offers ample opportunities for career advancement and recognition. This position will also manage the workers compensation portfolio for the AHSC regions.
What you'll be doing Acting as Serco's point of contact for all parties involved in the workers compensation and injury management processReceiving and maintaining current files for injured workers related to workers compensation claims (e.g. claim forms, medical certificates, Return to Work plans)Partnering with Operations to offer advice, training, consultation, monitoring, and governance in safety, wellbeing, and injury managementEnsuring the implementation of safety and injury management legislation, policies, and proceduresCalculating fortnightly workers compensation entitlements for payrollAnalyse and report on claims/rehabilitation cost trends and develop intervention strategiesAdvising the AHSC Leadership team on safe working procedures and Injury Management/Return to Work requirementsConducting assurance and education activities, such as audits, inspections, toolbox talks, and capability developmentRepresenting the contract with clients and customersAbout you You have extensive experience in delivering outcomes with a dispersed national workforce and excel in both injury and safety management. You will possess outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective collaboration and support.
Please note that only Australian Citizens capable of obtaining a Defence Security Clearance can be considered for this role. You will also need to have a current driver's license.
Your ideal skills & experience Certificate IV in Allied Health or HSE (minimum)Relevant Return to Work Coordinator accreditationExperience in completing Return to Work and/ or health management plansAbility to work independently as well as in a team, and demonstrate initiative, flexibility and congeniality in a high-volume work environmentAbility to travel interstate as required (ad-hoc basis)This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role.
