About the role Laing O'Rourke is currently recruiting for an IT Infrastructure Specialist based in Southbank, Melbourne.
This is an onsite position.
As part of the Information Technology department, your key responsibility is the deployment and support of a wide range of construction site infrastructure.
You will also take part in the implementation of Windows-based systems and provide 2nd- and 3rd-level support to our users across Australia.
Due to the nature of the infrastructure work, after-hours work may be required to support business-critical systems.
Laing O'Rourke IT has a strong focus on customer service, so a "can-do" attitude is a must.
As you will be working on a broad set of technologies, you will need to have demonstrated skills across a number of technology platforms and be driven to continuously learn, improve and develop.
This role will involve frequent travel to metropolitan areas and occasional travel to regional and interstate locations.
A current full Australian driver's licence is required.
Key responsibilities Design and Setup of construction project sites including: Network switching, Windows Server, Video Conferencing, etc. Providing L2/L3 support and escalation point for L1 team. Ensuring the availability and optimum performance of server infrastructure. Install and configure software to company specifications. Maintain a secure networking environment by monitoring and reporting security breaches and any unauthorised data access. Maintain thorough documentation. Implementation & configuration of AR and VR systems. Office 365 administration. Maintain currency within the Microsoft arena. About you A can-do attitude. Excellent general networking knowledge. Strong Windows server and PC skills, including AD, File, Print support. Extensive and expert knowledge of all currently supported Microsoft operating systems. Cisco networking. Experience with MS Intune management tools. Excellent communication and organisation skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. A focus on customer service and business enablement. Good understanding of change management processes. Desirable Skills: Relevant industry qualifications or tertiary degree – CCNA / Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Azure Certificates.
