Are you a skilled infrastructure professional with a passion for high-performance computing? We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Specialist (HPC) to join a dynamic team, supporting cutting-edge projects, delivering expert training, and optimizing advanced HPC systems.
About the Role: As an Infrastructure Specialist (HPC), you'll work with state-of-the-art Linux and Windows-based HPC clusters, mass data storage systems, and associated infrastructure. These systems power a wide range of scientific workloads, from satellite image processing and climate modelling to machine learning and other innovative applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing workflows, enhancing system capabilities, and ensuring secure, efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice to scientific staff on software management, workflow optimization, and HPC system usage.Deliver training sessions to enhance the team's HPC capabilities.Develop and maintain technical documentation to support users.Maintain and optimize HPC systems for batch processing and data-intensive tasks.Implement and upgrade infrastructure components, following best practices.Troubleshoot technical issues with operating systems and applications.Collaborate with vendors and partners to resolve system faults or failures.Manage job scheduling software to ensure fair resource allocation.Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and forward-looking projects.Perform Linux system administration to maintain secure and efficient operations.What You'll Bring: At least 5 years of experience managing and supporting Linux-based cluster environments.Expertise in batch management software and supporting parallel applications.Knowledge of parallel file systems, mass storage, and hierarchical storage management.Proficiency in scripting and programming languages like bash, Perl, Python, and R.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Desirable Skills: Familiarity with containerization and virtualization technologies (e.g., Apptainer/Singularity).Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab Runner, or Jenkins.Knowledge of Jupyter notebooks and related platforms.Experience with Windows-based HPC Clusters or tools like HPC Pack.Proficiency in cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and orchestration platforms.Familiarity with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and related technologies.If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to ****** for a confidential discussion.
