Senior Director Project Delivery
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency Details: The Senior Director Project Delivery is a significant role within the Canberra Hospital Expansion and Northside Hospital Project team primarily responsible for the delivery of a range of complex stakeholder engagement and project management activities in the delivery of the new Critical Services Building (CSB) including the Yamba Entrance Drive Project at Canberra Hospital and the Northside Hospital Project.
As the Senior Director Project Delivery role will include:
Act in accordance the Project Governance Framework at all times including maintaining the Contractors obligations and responsibilities under the D&C Deed.
Monitoring the progress of building commissioning and project manage to ensure programme and contract compliance during delivery and commissioning.
Inspecting works to ensure that they are constructed in accordance with the engineering designs, contract specifications and Canberra Health Services' clinical and other requirements.
Participate in the witness testing and quality assurance processes throughout the building commissioning phase of the project.
Provide assistance and support to Canberra Health Services, through management of the D&C Contractor's obligations through the defects liability period, including clinical liaison and support, and other project activities.
Liaise and negotiate with partner directorates, contractors and consultants to support the delivery of the defects obligations and final project works.
Represent the Project at committee level and with contractors, when and as required.
Compile and write reports and briefs on complex issues related to the Project activities.
Adhere to the government's procurement processes in line with the Government Procurement Act 2001 (ACT), Secure Local Jobs Code, and The Capital Framework (TCF).
This includes understanding the application of planning and development requirements in the ACT, the design process, contractual requirements, program control, cost control, alternative delivery methods, and statutory requirements.
Be responsible for the maintenance and record keeping of project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure compliance with the Territory Records Act 2002 (ACT).
Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all stakeholder groups to ensure that the project delivers on the functional and operational requirements of the hospital.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs and advice, in addition to working within a multidisciplinary team.
Provide oversight and leadership of the Canberra Hospital Expansion Project team members to achieve project outcomes and management day to day business of project personal.
Support the Northside Hospital Project team to deliver the planning, design, construction and completion of the project.
Eligibility/Other Requirements: Positions classified as Infrastructure Manager/Specialist require the occupant to hold recognised qualifications and/or experience in one or more of the following fields:
Professional qualifications and experience are defined as: Engineering - a four-year degree or higher qualification accredited by Engineers Australia or Professionals Australia for recognition as a Professional Engineer, including recognition of equivalent overseas Engineering qualifications, and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in Engineering; or Architecture - a three-year degree or higher qualification accredited by an Australian State or Territory architecture authority for recognition as a Professional Architect, including recognition of equivalent overseas qualifications, and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in Architecture; or Project Management – either:a diploma in Project Management accredited by an Australian State or Territory tertiary education institution or an equivalent overseas qualification that is eligible for reciprocal recognition in Australia and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in project management; or certification by a professional body, such as the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), to the level of Certified Practicing Project Director (CPPD) Certified Practicing Portfolio Executive (CPPE), in addition to a relevant degree or higher qualification issued by an Australian State or Territory tertiary education institution or an equivalent overseas that is eligible for reciprocal recognition in Australia and a minimum of ten years relevant experience in project management; or have at least ten years relevant experience in project management, as described in the work levels.
Tertiary qualifications in health, management or a related discipline, and experience in a social policy or planning environment are both highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of health infrastructure project/s of a comparable scale and complexity to the Canberra Hospital Expansion Project.
Have at least ten years' experience working on health projects, accompanied by relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant health discipline.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency.
