The role: The essential requirements for this role are: Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Department of Health's core values as outlines above.Provide specialist advice and recommendations regarding the maintenance, review and enhancement of mental health and alcohol and other drugs information systems.Provide specialist expertise and advice regarding information systems operational support design, business processes and system documentation to Hospital and Health Services, non-government, and private agencies.Provide education and support in relation to information system management including data definitions, standardised business processes and data quality.Utilise IT knowledge to receive, handle and investigate complex technical support incidents following agreed procedures.Develop and implement procedures to identify and rectify discrepancies in information to ensure a high quality of mental health, alcohol, and other drugs data sets.Provide input to the knowledge base through creation of documentation or updating records of known errors and associated fixes.To provide advice to Hospital and Health Services, non-government and private agencies on collection, processing, and related matters to maximise the quality and utility of Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs information.Prepare high quality and timely reports of mental health and alcohol and other drugs clinical data to senior staff, other key stakeholders as well as meeting State and Commonwealth reporting requirements.Contribute to the development, implementation, maintenance and review of system policies, procedures, business processes and practices necessary for the efficient and effective administration of the mental health and alcohol and other drug information systems.Incorporate in day-to-day work activities the requirements of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.Is this the opportunity for you?
