Senior Data Engineer Exp with Information Architectures, Data modelling, understanding of process modelling at an enterprise level Contract Opportunity based within Melbourne CBD Australian citizens and PR only Your new companyThis role is with VIC Govt organisation, primarily accountable for understanding and modelling business information requirements associated with the revenue management systems, business support systems and operational reporting systems ensuring that there is consistency in the definition, design, use and reporting of data used to produce this information across the enterprise.Through end to end involvement in project planning, architecture, business analysis and systems delivery lifecycles this role will closely engage with key business stakeholders and technology subject matter experts to identify and define information requirements and associated data sources required to meet these specific needs.Your new role Lead Business Information Requirements Planning and Design and partner with Business Leadership Teams to identify information reporting requirements and recommend how to leverage data assets to solve business problems Consult with business partners, stakeholders, technology committees and customer groups to educate, document and communicate business information requirements Participate in requirements and specification workshops Proactively ensure information requirements, architectural models, data modelling and system specifications are aligned Recommend how to best leverage data assets for enterprise / operational / management / analytical reporting purposes Conduct Business Information Modelling to help conceptualise Business Solutions and Domain Decomposition, and support Data Virtualisation Contribute to the development of Enterprise Architecture Reference Models (such as Capability Models, Process Models, Data Models etc) and align to Business Information Requirements Plan and estimate accurate effort for new Business Technology initiatives Contribute to Process Model development to align Information Requirements to the Business Architecture Review business processes, business architecture, business rules, use cases, prototypes and workflows, from the perspective of how best to leverage data assets What you'll need to succeed Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and concepts, such as metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies and how to apply these structured techniques thru agile processes Demonstrated knowledge of Business Domains, Data Modelling, Information Classifications, and an understanding of Process Modelling at an enterprise level Well developed communication and consulting skills and ability to work at all levels - from senior management thru to technical leads and application developers.
