Industrial Relations Specialist Seeking a highly experienced Industrial Relations Specialist to join our P&C TeamJoin South Australia's Number One Brand - RAAGenerous staff benefits | Rewards program | Work from home flexWe're looking for an Industrial Relations (IR) Specialist to join one of South Australia's most iconic brands, trusted by members for more than 120 years. As one of the state's largest employers, with more than 1300 employees and multiple businesses, this role will support the development and operation of a strategic centre of industrial and employee relations excellence: providing strategic, pragmatic advice and support on a range of complex matters including investigations, policy, legislation, bargaining and disputation.
You will work as part of a collaborative team and play a key role in developing and managing employee and industrial relations strategies that promote a positive and productive working environment at the RAA. You will proactively support stakeholders by providing expert advice, coaching, and guidance on complex industrial relations issues. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with relevant legislation and foster strong relationships with employees and management.
Key Responsibilities: Build strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver a customer-centric approach to Employee and Industrial Relations, providing strategic and pragmatic advice on organisation and individual issues.Advise on complex matters including performance management, disciplinary issues, grievances, bullying, harassment, and equal employment opportunity.Coach managers on performance management, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations, fostering a culture of compliance and industrial maturity.Stay current with legislative changes and contribute to the development of policies, industrial instruments, and frameworks to support a fair, inclusive, and compliant workplace.Lead investigations, and ensure consistent adherence to policies, procedures, and legislation.Support the development of bargaining frameworks and conduct negotiations with unions and key stakeholders to balance the needs of the organisation and its employees.Provide leadership in industrial disputes, respond to employment-related claims and represent the company in relevant commissions, ensuring effective governance and resolution.About you: The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, able to navigate complex employee and industrial relations issues with confidence and integrity. You should be adept at building relationships, coaching leaders, and providing expert advice across all levels. A strong understanding of industrial relations legislation, along with a collaborative approach to problem-solving, is essential for success in this role. We're also seeking:
Proven experience in industrial relations or employee relations, ideally within a complex or multi-disciplinary environment.Strong knowledge of relevant industrial relations legislation, policies, and best practices.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.Experience in providing coaching and guidance on complex IR and ER matters.Strong negotiation and consultation skills, particularly with unions and other external stakeholders.Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and integrity.Proven IR/ER or legal experience within a corporate environment.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, HR, industrial relations, or a related field.About us: We're proud to be one of South Australia's most iconic brands, trusted by members for more than 120 years.
