The RoleThe primary purpose of the Production Engineer Technician is to provide daily support to the production assembly lines in order to improve quality and assembly costs while meeting Area KPI targets; drive Continuous Improvements in accordance with Volvo Production System.
The key success factors for this role are to deliver excellence in the performance of the related process, as well as fulfilling the Customer's expectations, achieving the Company's Global Manufacturing KPI's.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide support to the Production Assembly lines and Cross Functional TeamUpdate and maintain assembly instructions for Production in regards to DCN and other changes in assembly that may affect the assembly instructionsImprove quality and assembly costs in area of responsibilitySupport cross functional teams in continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis activitiesSupport process change implementation using the Project Steering ModelSupport the New model IntroductionsConduct time studies in doing so identifying and removing process bottlenecksCreate shopfloor layouts ensuring Lean Manufacturing Principles are not compromisedAssist the Production Engineering Manager with relevant activities as requiredEnsure compliance with VCVA's Environmental Policy, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and take reasonable steps to protect or minimise harm to the workplace, its employees and the environmentOther ResponsibilitiesHealth & SafetyEnsure a culture of safe working and a safe work environment for all staffRaise concerns or actively address any health & safety issue identifiedAttend and apply all required safety trainingFollow all instructions given for working safelyIdentify and report all hazards, incidents, injuries & near misses immediatelyReport for work in a safe manner, unaffected by drugs and/or alcoholProtect own safety and health and not adversely affect the safety and health of othersWear safety equipment provided for the job task or areaDo not misuse or tamper with the safe use of equipmentPromote wellbeing and health in your team by supporting positive work/life choicesRisk Management and ComplianceManage risk and compliance in area, including ongoing identification of material risksMonitor and ensure adequate risk management and compliance processes are in placeContribute to strategic risk management and compliance activities, including ongoing risk identification and mitigationEnsure that senior management and your team have a good understanding of the material risksImplement and monitor controls to manage riskMaintain and oversee all systems of internal control in risk management and compliance systemsEnsure key legislative requirements are met and changes to legislation are communicatedPromote a company-wide risk aware cultureThis role is being offered on a permanent full-time basis and an immediate start is available for the right candidate.
