About the role
This position will report directly to the Electrical & Automation Supervisor as a hands-on role, based in our manufacturing facility at Wellcamp. The role will comprise of day-to-day undertaking of electrical work throughout Wagners CFT, in accordance with statutory requirements for Workplace Health and Safety, within project and operational timeframes. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in industrial settings.
Responsibilities
Ensure training and compliance in the use of Wagner's Safety Management System is undertaken at all operations.
Understand and adhere to Wagner's risk management policies and practices, whilst ensuring project risks and issues are identified and tracked.
Accountable for undertaking the day-to-day electrical operations, ensuring scheduled industrial electrical installation, maintenance work and emergency breakdowns are completed within required timeframes.
Ensure accurate completion of all electrical work undertaken to reduce rework, faults and breakdowns.
Ensure all electrical work undertaken by external contractors meets Wagners and statutory requirements.
Monitor and work to reduce costs associated with electrical repair and maintenance, to prolong the life operation of machinery and reduce downtime.
Investigate plant or equipment deficiencies that lead to out-of-spec finished goods and assist with ensuring BRC and other standards are met.
Work with PLCs, variable speed drives, and other automation technologies.
Provide professional advice to Wagners' Managers regarding electrical planning and operations required for the efficient operation of various plant and equipment.
Ensure work is undertaken in a responsive and positive manner.
Respond to unforeseen circumstances and emergency situations.
Any other duties associated with the role.
Skills and Experience / Qualifications
Work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical equipment.
Electric motors and control wiring.
Resistive load controls.
Interpret drawings and make changes if needed.
Pneumatic and hydraulic control wiring.
Sound working knowledge with PLCs, variable speed drives, and other automation equipment and AS3000 will be highly regarded.
Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience preferred but not essential.
Awareness and understanding of WH & S Electrical Safety Standards.
Electrical Trade Qualification (Electrical Fitter / Electrical Mechanic).
First Aid Certificate.
LRV Certificate.
