About the Position The Senior Learning Success Coordinator, a member of the Oodgeroo Unit Leadership team, leads a team focused on enhancing the participation and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Responsibilities include coordinating, delivering, and monitoring initiatives to improve student outcomes within a student-centric framework. They provide leadership in developing and implementing support practices tailored to the needs of Indigenous students. Effective coordination with relevant committees/groups ensures consultation and implementation of strategies. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial for executing the university's learning success strategy. The role involves implementing evidence-based approaches, developing referral pathways to community services, and collaborating with team members to achieve Unit goals. Reporting to the Manager, Oodgeroo Unit, the role encompasses career planning, development, and performance expectations. Advising the Manager, Oodgeroo Unit on strategies and practices to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students' academic and personal success. Managing and coordinating a campus-based team to ensure high-quality service delivery, consistency, and continuous improvement in key areas. Collaborating with Indigenous students to offer culturally appropriate support and identify relevant services. Building positive relationships with Indigenous staff, students, communities, and stakeholders. Establishing partnerships across the university to deliver seamless services for students. Providing leadership to drive team performance and improve student outcomes. Leading the development and implementation of initiatives supporting academic achievement and collaborating with faculty executives. Monitoring and improving policies, procedures, and case management to enhance learning success. Ensuring compliance with QUT policies and best practices in administration and case management. Making recommendations for improvements in student advisory services. Selection Criteria Completion of postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with relevant experience in education or social sciences and/or extensive experience within educational settings. Proven outcomes working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their communities to meet their cultural and learning needs, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues sensitively and effectively. Ability to develop and deliver innovative initiatives that empower and inspire Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their communities students to succeed in their educational endeavours. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a range of diverse stakeholders and in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their communities to positively engage and influence decision making. Proven ability to use initiative to plan and prioritise workloads in order to meet tight deadlines whilst operating under minimum supervision and maintaining a high level of accuracy. Demonstrated leadership and management skills that drive cohesion and high performance, with excellence in student centric service provision. This includes the ability to coach and mentor others. Proven outcomes and success in delivering high-quality, strategically driven and evidence-based service delivery in complex environments undergoing major growth and transformation, where significant judgement and sensitivity has been required. Lead and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and University policies and procedures and exhibit best practice in leadership and management skills that drive teamwork, high performance, and excellence in student service provision. The classification for this position is Higher Education Worker Level 9 (HEW9) which has an annual remuneration range of $152,734 to $160,006 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of $129, 062 to $135, 207 pa, 17% superannuation, and leave loading.
