Mornington Special Developmental School is a Specialist School that caters for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. The school is located beside Mornington Park Primary School, providing opportunities for interaction and integration programs. Selection Criteria

Demonstrated high level experience in inclusive education practice, building staff capability and developing observation and feedback processes.
Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based intervention strategies for students with disabilities.
Ability to contribute to the development and evaluation of inclusive teaching strategies across various school settings.
Ability to provide advice to teaching staff on assessing and monitoring student achievement in line with the Victorian curriculum.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide leadership and professional learning to enhance engagement and wellbeing of children and young people.

The Disability Inclusion reform agenda will invest more than $1.5 billion into the Victorian Education system over four years to improve outcomes for schools and students with disabilities.
Classification
Teacher Class (Learning Specialist) - Range 3
The successful applicant will be a skilled classroom practitioner delivering high-quality teaching. Learning Specialists are expected to have deep knowledge in teaching practices that improve student engagement and wellbeing.
Role
Inclusion Outreach Coaches provide coaching support to school leadership and staff to strengthen inclusive practices. Coaches partner with schools to implement evidence-based strategies benefiting all students, emphasizing preventative practices.
Responsibilities

Demonstrating expertise in inclusive education to support school culture.
Providing technical advice and coaching for effective student engagement.
Supporting leadership teams in using data to establish inclusive practices.
Implementing professional learning and monitoring interventions.
Modelling effective inclusive education practices.
Providing leadership and professional learning to ensure quality inclusive practices.
Maintaining professional competence through ongoing learning.
Collecting and analyzing data for the Inclusion Outreach Coaching initiative.

Additional Area Responsibilities

Using problem-solving procedures to address school needs.
Delivering inclusion support across various school settings.
Monitoring and reporting the impact of inclusive practices.
Collaborating with other coaches and teams.
Maintaining support within the hiring specialist school.

Who May Apply
Applicants must currently hold or be eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
Desirable Qualifications

A qualification in special/inclusive education and/or disability.
Experience across various school settings.
Experience working with students with disabilities.

Other Relevant Information

A current driver's licence and access to private transport is mandatory.
