Our client is looking for a Tax Accountant to join their Renewables business for a newly created role due to large activity on an 18 - 24 month contract (with possibility of extension). This role will support the finance team on a broad range of work ensuring compliance with all relevant tax legislations in Australia and New Zealand.
The Role Supporting the Tax Manager, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns, assisting in tax planning for Australia and New Zealand project entities and strategies, and assisting with conducting tax due diligence reviews for M&A transactions.
Responsibilities Prepare and review income tax returns, BAS returns and FBT returns in accordance with AU and NZ tax regulations.Assist with preparation of transfer pricing documentation.Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies that optimise the company's tax position while complying with Australian tax law.Assist in (including liaising with external tax advisors) conducting tax due diligence reviews for M&A transactions, to help identify any tax risks, liabilities, or opportunities that may impact the transaction.Monitor tax deadlines and ensure timely and accurate tax reporting for all entities in AU and NZ group.Requirements At least 2 years' experience from commercial, Big Four or mid-tier professional services environment.Strong understanding of Australian tax laws, including GST, income tax, and tax compliance.
