Our client is a highly successful global organisation, passionate about transforming the lives of others by offering advice on wellbeing. A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Counsel to join its friendly and supportive Melbourne team.
This role will see you provide legal advice on a broad range of legal matters, including consumer law, general corporate and commercial law, leasing, product and food safety, intellectual property, privacy, IT and other procurement contracts
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, negotiate and advise on all contracts and agreements, including supply, sponsorship, influencer and ambassador agreements, confidentiality deeds, and other legal documents as required
Provide general HR and industrial law guidance, including employment disputes, disciplinary matters and workplace relations legislation
Review and advise on marketing and promotional material, with a focus on e-commerce
Draft advertising and competition terms and conditions
Apply for permits and licences with regulatory agencies when required
Advise on general statutory compliance and regulatory issues, including updates to the business on any applicable legislative changes, while devising legal strategies to minimise risk
Manage any external counsel engagements as required, including budgetary implications
Develop and update template agreements, other precedents and processes
Review product packaging and related material for compliance with legislative requirements
Provide legal advice and guidance on any grievances, complains and disputes
Manage any formal disputes, including mediation and litigation
Provide training to employees as to key legislation impacting their business and area
Manage all legal and risk projects for the business, and make appropriate recommendations for change and new initiatives based on legislative changes
Maintain company registers and databases
Candidate:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years PAE as a commercial and corporate lawyer within private practice or an in-house environment with experience of working in the consumer law field. You will be an excellent communicator with strong organisation skills and you will have a genuine passion for the industry.
