About the role as In-House Lawyer: A rare and exciting opportunity has emerged to join the entertainment and events industry in our busy and dynamic Legal & Compliance team. The position would suit a 2-5 year experienced solicitor wanting to move into, or continue their career journey in a corporate legal counsel role. Working closely with the General Counsel, CEO and other commercial and operational teams throughout the business, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and research on various business activities for the RAS.
Key Responsibilities: Provide legal advice to support the Sydney Showground, Easter Show, Agriculture and Education teams. Protection of RAS' Intellectual Property Portfolio and compete applications for new trademarks as required. Assist with the administration of compliance training such as: Corporate Governance; Work, Health and Safety; Employment Law; Working with Children Checks database for compliance with Kids Guardian Legislation. Assisting with public liability claims and running commercial dispute negotiations. Drafting legal and commercial advice for Sydney Showground events and the Easter Show. Preparation of a wide variety of contracts and supporting staff through the contracting processes; including sponsorship, naming rights, construction and technology agreements. Assisting with contract and corporate governance audits. Managing face-to-face legal training, and various databases for legal and compliance. What Will Make You Successful? Australian Practicing Certificate, qualified to provide legal advice in NSW. Experience providing legal and operational advice to various stakeholders. Qualification or experience in corporate governance, risk management and Work Health and Safety. Thorough understanding of legal concepts and understanding of contract law, insurance and legal operations. Experience working in a variety of contract administration software. MS Office 365 at an intermediate level. Experience in administration including claims handling of accidents. Excellent attention to detail. Able to build and maintain strong working relations with clients and the team. Excellent communication, written, oral and social skills. Excellent ethical foundation and professional attitude. Be willing to undertake a police clearance check if required.
