Illawarra District Rugby League Football Club (Illawarra Steelers) – Wollongong NSW
The Illawarra Head of Football leads Rugby League in the Illawarra and South Coast region and is primarily responsible for:
Managing Illawarra Rugby League, both Junior and Senior Community Competitions and Clubs.Overseeing the Steelers Pathways Program, both male and female.Managing communications, representing the Steelers/League professionally, and liaising with stakeholders both internally and externally.Managing and coordinating all football operations as a team.Managing and overseeing reporting staff accordingly.Monitoring and managing the financial position and within budget.Maintaining governance and constitutional requirements.Working closely with Community Club volunteers and all external stakeholders/governing bodies.Working closely with the Steelers Club General Manager, with two direct reports supporting the Football Department that include the Steelers Pathways Manager, League and Club Support Officer, and League Administrative Assistant(s).
The role works closely with all stakeholders to ensure the most effective pathway structures and programs are in place and community competitions are thriving and reaching their maximum potential.
The position requires an eager and high-performing administrator who is highly motivated and determined, with a knowledge and understanding of Rugby League (from an entry/community level through to pathways and elite representative teams).
The ideal candidate will have the passion and capability to build and implement best practices in the Illawarra and will be intrinsically motivated by the challenge and opportunity of long-term development, growth, and competition sustainability.
About You Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business/Sports Administration, or working towards a recognised relevant tertiary qualification or over 5 years of relevant industry experience.Demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences in:
Knowledge and understanding of the game of Rugby League, both Elite Pathways and Community Competitions.Experience in administering the game of Rugby League, and people and budgetary management.Highly developed written and verbal communication capability, including skill in networking and building effective relationships with stakeholders.Ability to build rapport and foster relationships with a variety of stakeholders with demonstrated strength in influencing outcomes collaboratively.Demonstrated ability to apply a firm but consistent approach and to be authentic in dealings with stakeholders.Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.Advanced written and oral communication skills, with the ability to address sensitive matters effectively. #J-18808-Ljbffr
