What you will do as the ICT Procurement ManagerRoleThe ICT Procurement Manager is a key role leading a small team to provide strategic, technical advice and support in planning, and throughout the procurement lifecycle process aligning with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules to achieve value for money outcomes.
In this role you will ensure timely delivery of procurement services for the Information Management and Technology Services branch and:
Lead a team of professionals, role modelling our leadership behaviours, supporting a professional and collaborative working environment, coaching, giving continuous feedback, resolving conflict, and facilitating career development.Lead and provide high quality strategic, accurate, procurement advice and support to the IMTS branch for the delivery of procurement services.Effectively apply and provide advice in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules to achieve value for money outcomes.Stay updated on the latest trends, requirements, and best practices for federal government procurement, and share insights and learnings with the ICT Procurement team and internal stakeholders, using relevant forums and platforms.Proactively monitor the IT Overheads budget by analysing and identifying variances, changes, and trends to provide forecasting that informs planning and decision making.Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders from internal teams and vendors to continue to shape the overall delivery of IT procurement services.Proactively seek and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in the delivery of procurement services.About YouIn order to succeed in the role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience leading an IMTS team or similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation.Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders across different functions and levels.Exceptional communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to articulate complex procurement processes and prepare quality detailed documentation and reports for diverse audiences.Creative and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify and solve problems, generate ideas, and innovate.
The ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and with a continuous learning and improvement attitude.Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in procurement and demonstrated understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR's) and BuyICT.To find out more about us and the role, please read the Candidate Kit.
