Our client, a large complex Queensland Government organisation, is currently seeking an ICT Instructional Designer for their Service Modernisation Program.
The role
The Information and Digital Services business unit is leading a Service Modernisation Program (SMP) which will deliver a comprehensive program of work which will:
Improve the way vulnerable Queenslanders interact with their frontline services. Provide a single source of truth for data. Provide agility to respond to the changing needs of Queenslanders through reducing the complexity of our ICT ecosystem. The Instructional Designer will report directly to the Program Director - Change & Engagement and will be responsible for the development and delivery of all learning materials and activities.

What you will be doing: Engage as a collaborative and productive team member to plan, develop, deliver, review, and maintain a diverse range of L&D resources in line with organisational strategies. Apply proven instructional design methodologies to create, develop, and produce flexible learning materials for training and education programs, ensuring these resources are effective across various formats, including print and digital. Participate in consultations including training needs analysis and training plans. Participate in the collection, analysis, and application of data to evaluate L&D solutions and implement continuous improvement. Coordinate projects within prescribed timeframes by liaising with different stakeholders, including internal and external clients and team members to ensure successful project outcomes. Support SMP's L&D strategy and framework, including policy and procedure development and review. Regularly review and update learning materials and resources incorporating feedback, the latest research, new accreditation requirements, and adapting to changes in the target audience or subject matter to maintain relevance and effectiveness. Complete administrative L&D activities including information management and administering the LMS. To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, while actively listening and engaging. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for needs analysis, data analysis, and tackling challenges and efficiencies. Familiarity or experience using and designing for LMS platforms. Experience designing and building engaging learning, encompassing a variety of interventions including eLearning development and face-to-face learning. The ability to track the effectiveness and relevance of learning through a range of metrics both pre and post learning deployment. Mandatory requirements Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher. 3+ years' experience in a learning development/instructional design role, designing and developing digital and face-to-face learning interventions. Experience administering and deploying learning content in Learning Management Systems (LMS). Experience in using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Rise, TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Pro, Photoshop, or Illustrator. Knowledge of Project Management methodologies. This daily rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
