Initial 6+ month contract with potential extension paying up to $910/day.Brisbane CBD location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week.Our client, a complex Queensland organisation within the energy utilities sector, is currently seeking an ICT Business Analyst for an initial 6+ month contract.
Roles and responsibilities include: Engage internal business departments and solicit benefits and requirements for technical and non-technical projects.Work with external vendors to confirm requirements and translate to fit for purpose business artefacts.Lead the analysis and design of business change and support technology solution definition and delivery.Support the delivery of assigned projects within scope, agreed timelines and budget.Ensure change needs align with organisational goals, priorities, architecture direction and, where applicable, roadmaps.Maintain and support the continual development of the Business Analysis framework, competency, and be an active member of the ICT BA Community of Practice.Define business needs, processes, and business case for change.Identify end user functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders and subject matter experts.Assist with maintaining and tracking requirements to business benefit.Complete or support the completion of business cases to define the purpose, scope, impact, and cost for change.Undertake desktop research, scans, and subject matter reviews to identify business change and/or technology solution considerations.Analyse or develop workflows and create process maps that outline the business operating model elements of change.Complete current state analysis, future state design, impact analysis, use cases, user stories, or other activities and artefacts to satisfy project purpose and scope.Integrate initiative process artefacts and workflows into the broader business and process architecture catalogues and repositories.Work as a crucial component of a project team responsible for enhancing existing systems or developing new systems.Provide detailed analysis of business requirements and support the ICT team to align suitable solutions.Produce technical specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms to suppliers and project teams.Support the evaluation of possible technology solutions or providers of solutions and/or services.Champion and support testing practices to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality, and user friendliness of system enhancement/development, including test case development/review as required.Prepare material and provide training and assistance to end-users in preparation for implementation.Develop associated materials and information to support embedding and transitioning into 'business as usual' business change.Ensure sustainability of IT Support systems and processes.Qualifications and industry experience required: Tertiary qualifications in ICT, Business or similar relevant field - highly desirable.Previous energy sector experience - highly desirable.Industry certifications in Business Analysis disciplines (e.g., BABOK) - desirable.Skills and experience required: Highly experienced and effective in business engagement and stakeholder relationship management.A background in the Energy Utilities sector.A background in Operational Technology (SCADA) or real-time systems.Experience leading a business analysis function or team.Extensive knowledge/experience with:Business Analysis in complex and maturing operational environments.Business case development.Supplier/vendor evaluation.Business Process Design and Process Modelling (BPMN).Release lifecycle management.Quality management methods.A strength in process design and business solutions development.Working within and across programs of change.Experience with project-to-operations transition.Experience delivering and constructing workshops to elicit requirements.Highly developed verbal and written communication.Desirable knowledge/experience in: Energy or Utilities sectors.Customer Experience concepts, design, and change considerations.Customer impacting business needs and change.Energy Trading processes and systems.Software Development.SCADA.To submit your application, in strict confidence, please submit your resume in Word Format using the appropriate link quoting reference No.
