Permanent full-time Oncology Pharmacist at Slade Pharmacy Albert Street Work for a growing company with development opportunities and great employee benefits The Opportunity: We are looking for a full-time Pharmacist to join our supportive and collaborative team. As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will be based on site primarily at Slade Pharmacy Albert Street in East Melbourne, with occasional travel to Ballarat. You will also be overseeing oncology services provided at Mildura Hospital.
You will also have the opportunity to receive training and gain experience across various oncology sites in Victoria, to cover periods of planned leave in other oncology units, allowing you to explore different oncology wards and specialties across a broad range of private hospitals in a supported and stimulating environment.
In this role, you'll: Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Accurately dispense and review medications for oncology patients, ensuring safety, efficacy, and optimal therapeutic outcomes. Conduct clinical assessments, monitor drug therapy, and make appropriate recommendations based on patients' needs and response to treatment. Offer counselling to patients and caregivers on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence to treatment plans. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based protocols and guidelines for oncology pharmaceutical care. Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the pharmacy's quality improvement initiatives. Participate in ongoing professional development activities and stay updated with the latest advancements in oncology pharmacy practice. Eligibility Requirements: Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia. Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. Previous experience in oncology pharmacy is desirable but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided. A strong interest in cancer care is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to travel to other oncology sites when required. Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy. Excited to join us?
