About the Role Base Location: Perth
Salary: £58,630 - £68,098 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + shift allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

As a Hydro Control Engineer, you'll be accountable for managing and maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the Hydro Generation fleet in adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements from our 24/7 Hydro Operations Centre in Perth.
Main accountabilities may include: Coordinating the mobilisation of support staff in response to plant status changes, always ensuring the safety of the field teams.Managing the control room aspects of planned outages of the assets.Managing the operation of Hydro plant in compliance with flood control procedures and Controlled Activities Regulations (CAR).Monitoring real time data to manage alarm events, retaining asset integrity and effective plant operation.Ensuring that operational decisions made, and actions taken do not have any impact on People, Environment, Assets or Reputation (PEAR) for the business.What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
A minimum HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable relevant experience.Experience of generating plant and/or HV systems and authorisation under Safety Rules.A flexible approach is required, and you should be prepared to work shifts to meet the 24/7 operational requirements.Strong attention to detail and self-motivation skills with the ability to manage your own workload.Knowledge and understanding of the SSE Hydro schemes and Hydro Power Station plant characteristics.What's in it for you?
