Due to our continued growth in the Power Quality, Substation and Service business, we are seeking an experienced Power Quality / HVDC Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our Hitachi Energy team. The position is in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The successful applicant will need to have experience with the maintenance, refurbishment, and installation of Power Quality & HVDC equipment, although further training/development will be provided for the right person.
Your responsibilities: You will perform Service / Project installation and commissioning of equipment and routine maintenance independently, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity. You will contribute to customer satisfaction by executing Service / Project work according to customer order, expectation and maintain a good relationship with customers. You will coordinate, prepare and ensure that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service / Project activities. You will prepare all required documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative in a timely manner, provide recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service. You will apply safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities, where required, manage junior technicians and contractors on site to ensure necessary quality and progress is achieved meet delivery dates and standards. You will be mentoring and supporting the development and growth of junior technicians. Your background: Bachelor/master's degree in electrical engineering. More than 5+ years of experience in HV sectors of the Electrical industry. Experience working on & understanding construction sites & their related protocols and the MACH Control System is desirable. A QLD Electrical License is desirable. Knowledge of testing methodologies is mandatory. A good level of computer literacy is required. A full clean driver's license is required as the role will require driving a company vehicle. Capable of undertaking heavy work (lifting test equipment) and demonstrated experience working at heights is required. Willingness to travel supporting the PQ & HVDC Installed base in the ASIA Region-Being an active Team player within our business. Proficiency in English communication.
