Jono & Johno began operating in the rural town of Warracknabeal in 2008, before opening a second store in Ballarat and going on to become one of Australia's leading online suppliers in chainsaw equipment, power machinery and spare parts, offering high quality products at competitive prices.
Along with the two retail stores, Jono and Johno have an online customer service team, warehouse team and administrative support team.

The Role An opportunity to become a critical part of the Jono and Johno executive leadership team has arisen due to the relocation of our current Human Resources Manager. Reporting to the Directors, the Human Resources Manager is a stand-alone role, providing direction and leadership in all aspects of the employee life cycle to ensure Jono and Johno is an employer of choice and has an engaged, productive and high performing workforce. Although this is a stand-alone role, the position will benefit from the support and counsel of experienced members of the executive team, providing a strong foundation for success.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Provision of performance coaching and expert advice;
Administration of talent attraction, recruitment and onboarding processes;
Management of organisational development, with a focus on culture and learning;
Strategic and workforce planning;
Ensuring compliance with health, safety and wellbeing requirements;
Ownership of employee lifecycle systems and processes.
The role is based at our Ballarat warehouse and involves travel to our Warracknabeal store in one of Jono and Johno's company vehicles. Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by Jono and Johno.
The 22.5-30 hours/week would preferably be worked across three to five business days; hours and days of work are flexible, and we will work with the successful candidate to discuss their availability.
About You Jono and Johno are seeking an enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced Human Resources Manager, or a senior HR generalist/practitioner/business partner looking to take the next step in their career, to join our team.
The successful candidate will not only have excellent communication and interpersonal skills but have a demonstrated understanding of contemporary human resource practices with significant knowledge of various employment laws and legislation, along with experience providing advice to resolve complex employee issues.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will model and lead the Jono and Johno values and partner with the business to provide support, coaching and advice to directors, managers and staff across the three sites.
Key Selection Criteria Extensive experience as a HR practitioner, generalist or senior HR business partner or manager role.
Proven experience in successfully managing a human resource function including workforce planning, recruitment, organisation and employee development, employee relations, employee engagement and organisational change, work, health and safety, HR information/training systems and reporting.
Demonstrated understanding of contemporary human resources issues and a strong working knowledge of various employment laws and practices, and experience providing advice to resolve complex employee issues.
Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, influencing, advisory and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to influence across the entire organisation, from frontline staff through to Executive.
Willingness to work in a standalone role where you are constantly required to flex from strategic to hands-on.
