Overview
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) leads HR initiatives that support the group's mission of delivering quality early education while fostering a positive, productive, and collaborative workplace culture. This role drives organizational success by delivering strategic and operational HR services, including HR administration, Employee Relations (ER), and workforce planning. It ensures compliance with all relevant laws and industry-specific regulations, particularly those governing the Early Childhood sector, while fostering a diverse and engaged workplace. Partnering with Leadership Teams, the HRBP provides guidance on disputes, grievances, and terminations to enhance employee engagement and build capabilities. Additionally, the HRBP oversees Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Return to Work (RTW) compliance, ensuring adherence to safety standards and promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Strategic HR Partnership Act as a strategic HR partner to center directors and the leadership team, providing expert advice to align HR strategies with business objectives.Lead the development, implementation, and review of HR policies to ensure alignment with organizational goals, Fair Work regulations, and Early Childhood Industry standards.Analyze organizational needs and emerging trends to design policies that address workforce challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and drive employee engagement.Regularly refine and update HR policies to ensure they remain relevant, legally compliant, and reflective of best practices.HR Services, Employee Relations, and Culture Provide proactive advice and expertise on Employee Relations (ER) matters, including policy development and conflict resolution, to ensure fair and equitable outcomes that build employee trust and confidence.Support managers in addressing workplace disputes, complaints, and grievances with a focus on fostering positive relationships and effective resolutions.Deliver key HR services, including performance management, change management, and capability building, to enhance employee engagement, retention, and team effectiveness.Drive initiatives to strengthen communication, mutual respect, and morale while promoting a culture aligned with organizational values and goals.Ensure compliance with Early Childhood Industry-specific regulations and Fair Work regulations.Regularly review and update HR policies to reflect legal and regulatory changes, ensuring clear and consistent communication to all staff.Provide managers with training and guidance on workplace practices, Fair Work compliance, and employment laws to develop effective people management skills.Continuously improve HR processes and practices to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.HR Administration Maintain accurate employee records, including classification, status changes, and personal details, ensuring data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.Oversee HR documentation and processes, including employment contracts, onboarding, and employee status changes, while managing the HRIS system to ensure accurate data management, reporting, and analytics for informed decision-making.Monitor key HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, engagement, and employee relations trends, providing actionable insights to leadership to enhance workforce outcomes.Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to attract talent aligned with organizational needs.Support operations in workforce planning and retention strategies to build and sustain a skilled and motivated workforce.Oversee WHS policies, programs, and compliance to ensure a proactive approach to maintaining safety and managing workers' compensation matters.Participate in incident investigations, risk assessments, inspections, and WHS audits to ensure adherence to safety standards and promote a safety-first culture.Qualifications and Experience Educational Background Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role, with demonstrated leadership in Employee Relations, HR administration, and workforce planning.Experience in Early Childhood Education or a regulated industry with compliance requirements is highly advantageous.Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR policies aligned with organizational goals, legal standards, and best practices.Strong background in resolving workplace disputes, managing grievances, and fostering a positive workplace culture.Experience in managing HR systems (HRIS) to ensure accurate data management, reporting, and analytics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities, to effectively train and guide managers on HR practices, compliance, and leadership development.Proven ability to lead change initiatives, including performance management, culture alignment, and organizational transitions.Interpersonal skills to build trust-based relationships and foster team collaboration.Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Return to Work (RTW) programs.Skills and Attributes Proactive problem-solver who anticipates challenges
