About MMG Dugald River mine: Dugald River is one of the world's top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023, the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power and reducing emissions by 33%.
Dugald River has about 750 employees and contractors who work on a mix of fly-in, fly-out, and local residential basis. The village offers amenities such as a gym with a women's only area, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a walking track, and an entertainment area.
Human Resources Business Partner This newly created position will report to the Manager of Human Resources & Training and play a key role as an operational partner for Dugald River Mine (DRM). This role is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support and aiding in the implementation of HR initiatives that effectively align with DRM's business plan.
With demonstrated experience within a mining (or related) environment, you will have well-developed skills and personal attributes, including the following:
Tertiary qualifications in HR/ER/IR or business-related field. Knowledge of contemporary HR principles and practices. Understanding of HR functions and responsibilities. Understanding of the application of Industrial Relations framework and legislation. Experience interpreting and negotiating Enterprise Agreements. Experience liaising with Union and other Third-Party organisations. Ability to foster relationships and collaborate closely with varying stakeholders. This is a permanent position on a four days on, 3 days off (4/3) roster, with potential flexible working options considered. Various transport arrangements are available including:
Daily Bus in Bus out (BIBO) from Cloncurry. Drive in Drive out (DIDO) from Mount Isa. Fly in Fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane. Key responsibilities will include: Forge and maintain robust professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficient and cost-effective service delivery. Assist leaders in effectively managing day-to-day personnel matters and harnessing the full potential of the workforce to drive the site's business goals. Provide firm guidance and training on essential HR systems such as recruitment, equal employment opportunities, compensation, performance management, grievance and discipline, and employee relations to ensure comprehensive understanding and successful implementation by site leaders. Contribute to developing and revising HR standards and procedures at Dugald River. Participate in HR projects, including diversity and inclusion, change management, and engagement. Assist leaders in handling employee grievances and disciplinary matters in accordance with MMG standards and legal requirements. Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and grievances to achieve prompt and equitable resolution. Aid line management in all aspects of performance management, including setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objectives, providing resources, and evaluating performance development. Support stakeholders in all HR processes, including My Performance reviews, Annual Remuneration Review, budget planning, and cost reviews. Contribute and collaborate with the broader HR team at Dugald River, Rosebery, and the MMG Group Office. What we offer Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package & annual bonus.
