Health, Safety & Environment (Construction) At McNab, our HSE Business Partners genuinely partner with the Construction and Department Managers to ensure McNab's "Safety First" culture and leadership standards are implemented and take full responsibility to drive Safety for the Business.
Key responsibilities will include: Drive and demonstrate safety leadership with the site team as early as possible to ensure everyone understands, believes, and connects with safety on a personal level. Work with the project team to identify and implement strategies that ensure our subbies and direct workers want to do the right thing and be safe at work. Take ownership and seek opportunities to develop their own technical and safety leadership development. Understand the HSE Advisor's (and greater teams) knowledge, skills and gaps. Provide education, support, and advice to assist them in fulfilling their role responsibilities. Work with other HSE BPs and McNab group to share information, learnings, priorities, current exposures, and risks, to support an informed, knowledgeable, and consistent outcome. Ensure solution and opportunity focus to sharing and learning both positive and negative outcomes to drive safety leadership across McNab. Build productive relationships with subcontractors to assist in setting, educating, and holding them accountable for safety expectations. Proactively identify potential issues through early engagement in operational planning, walking site, high-risk planning, relationships, meeting participation, etc., and collaborate with the PM and SM. About You: As the HSE Business Partner, you are genuinely passionate about safety, you believe and connect with safety on a personal level and lead through example.
You will have: Tertiary qualifications in WHS or other relevant discipline. Solid experience as a health and safety professional on commercial construction sites. Strong leadership and communication skills. The willingness to be routinely visible on site. Team-oriented - supporting and working with your team. A proven track record influencing a diverse group of people. In addition to the above, you must have a minimum qualification of a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or similar; it will be your mission to maintain and lead the overall safety management of your projects.
