We are a leading turnkey solution provider specializing in the deployment of utility-scale solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across Australia. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a talented HSE Advisor to join our team.Primary ObjectiveThis site-based role is responsible for ensuring site works on solar farms and BESS projects are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner, providing solutions to any task at hand. The HSE Advisor will support project teams with appropriate health and safety advice to meet federal safety regulatory and ISO accreditation requirements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage project health and safety requirements consistent with client's HSSE Manual and ACLE Services HSE Manual, policies, and business priorities.Continuously review project SWMS, JSEA, and TRAs.Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.Review existing policies, measures and local legislation requirements, and assist to ensure company compliance.Initiate and organize HSE training for all employees.Work within company HSEQ and business management systems.Provide weekly reports to management as per contract requirements.Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims.Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to the leadership team.Manage the Internal & External Audit Schedule.Provide Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership.Manage Return-to-Work processes.Undertake weekly HSE meetings with the client.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.Evaluate and monitor subcontractors' safety performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site.Oversee waste management and recycling to ensure environmental compliance.Promote a positive safety culture among all site personnel through regular communications and safety initiatives.Implement and track corrective actions resulting from safety audits and inspections.Ensure all site activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.Assist in the development and implementation of HSE strategies and initiatives specific to BESS Projects.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSE practices and procedures on-site.Qualifications & ExperiencePossess a minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.At least 3 years employment experience in a HSE leadership role preferably within the renewable energy and or construction industry.Hold a TAE (Training and Assessment) Certification.Hold a Return-to-Work (RTW) Certificate.Comprehensive knowledge of the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice.Understanding of Workers Compensation and Return-to-Work programs.Sound knowledge of risk management principles and related practices and procedures.Demonstrated experience in implementing health and safety management systems, and providing advice to managers and staff regarding best practice with WHS matters.Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems (Lucidity & SharePoint) is a plus.Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.Hands-on approach in achieving a safe construction site for various trades including civil, structural and electrical disciplines.Superior attention to detail with exceptional organisational skills and capabilities.Resilience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to problem-solve when required.Solar, Battery Energy Storage or electrical substation experience an advantage but not essential.Familiar with Office of Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) requirements.Experience with Lucidity OHS software.Experience with site-based Environmental compliance.Proficient in computer technology and systems.Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications.Strong leadership and management skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Able to positively influence others.Works well as part of a team.
