The HSE Advisor will serve as a subject matter expert in health, safety and environment (HSE), providing expert advice to leaders, HSR's and employees in line with Australian legislation and best practice in the Industrial Division.
Location – Chirnside Park, Victoria | Hybrid Working Arrangement (3 days office/2 days home and flexible on days)
The Impact You'll Make:
Partner with the leaders and HSR's to foster a strong safety culture through committed and visible leadership, creating a workforce which engages with safe practice, systems and behaviours; Build Safety engagement across all areas of the Industrial Division, from Shop Floor and Front-Line Sales, and all functions.
Partner with and coach managers & employees to build awareness, educate and improve a sustainable safety culture.
Provide support and guidance to the business to ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices; Support the team in implementing new safety initiatives; Conduct thorough investigations of all accidents or incidents resulting in lost time or medical treatment to determine the root cause and implement corrective actions; Ensure that the Safety Management System (SMS) is fully implemented and regularly audited for compliance with relevant regulations and standards; Prepare safety reports for management reporting purposes, ensuring timely and accurate communication of safety performance; Maintain appropriate processes for handling work cover claims and supporting employees' successful return to work; Early Intervention & Injury Management (work & non-work related); and Lead programs to ensure safe and compliant handling, storage, and transport of dangerous goods, including adherence to Chain of Responsibility requirements and proper manual handling techniques.
About you:
Formal qualification in Workplace Health and Safety 3+ years' experience in a HSE Officer or similar role Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred Strong understanding of Australian Safety laws and regulations Working knowledge of the Myosh SMS and its application in health and safety management Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with businesses to achieve shared goals Proven experience in dangerous goods handling, psychological safety, Chain of Responsibility compliance, and related safety practices and procedures.
