About the role UGL are currently seeking suitably qualified HSE Advisor to work on a Brownfield Construction Project in Darwin, Northern Territory. The project will commence in March 2024, with an estimated 9-12 month duration. You will be a local Darwin resident or will work on a 19/9 roster, FIFO from capital cities within Australia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of effective HSE programs and practices to safeguard the well-being of our workforce, protect the environment, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Establish and cultivate a safety culture in alignment with UGL's One HSE Culture Framework. 2. Implement comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to the brownfields construction project. 3. Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks. 4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HSE requirements into project plans and activities. 5. Provide HSE training and induction programs for project personnel, emphasizing the importance of safe work practices. 6. Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards. 7. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures. 8. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with HSE standards and expectations. 9. Foster a culture of safety consciousness and environmental responsibility among all project team members. Qualifications: 1. Diploma in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent, Environmental Management, or a related field. 2. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferred. 3. Proven experience as a HSE Advisor in the construction industry, particularly on brownfields projects. 4. Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards. 5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to conduct effective training sessions and toolbox talks.
