HSET Advisor MFE is an adaptive and progressive business specialising in site maintenance, fabrication and project management predominately in the mining and energy sector.
We are seeking to recruit the new position of Lead Health, Safety, Environment and Training (HSET) advisor.
This position will be based in Chinchilla, a vibrant and strong community with excellent facilities.
The role will report to the General Manager and will lead, mentor and manage a small team which plays a vital role in supporting our operations of approximately 55 people.
This is a dynamic role, with no two days the same and will be both challenging and highly rewarding for the successful applicant.
Duties include: Managing and mentoring HSET team including trainees and advisors Advising Project Managers, Site Managers & Supervisors on matters of Health & Safety compliance Drive the continuous improvement of safety, health, environment and training systems and culture for the business Supporting and implementing practical HSET solutions as required Leading HSET audits and inspections across sites Implementation of relevant health schemes and initiatives as required, including fitness for work provisions Developing and maintaining internal HSET systems to maintain ISO certification Reporting on performance, achievements, compliance, incidents, trends in relation to HSET Leading incident investigations and development of corrective action plans Review of internal and subcontractor safety management plans and procedures, including risk management and control measures Develop and facilitate HSE training to personnel as required on hazard identification, risk assessment, control implementation, monitoring and review process. To be considered for this role, the candidate will need the following skills and experience: Minimum Cert IV in OH&S (or equivalent) 5 years+ experience in a similar role, preferably within a heavy or mining industry environment Experience leading and mentoring a team Demonstrated experience in development and application of safety and health management systems, risk management and incident management Ability to work and make decisions autonomously High-level communication and stakeholder management skills Experience using Microsoft programs and other digital software Solutions driven using practical approaches to achieve Safety and Health outcomes It is highly desirable that the applicant live in Chinchilla with relocation assistance and living local bonus being provided; however, drive-in-drive-out may be considered for the right candidate.
