Presiding officer To manage the administration and supervision of the 2024 Higher School Certificate written examinations at Santa Sophia, Box Hill.
Presiding officers are responsible directly to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for the effective conduct of the Higher School Certificate exams.
Working closely with the principal or their school delegate, Presiding Officers are responsible for:
managing a team of supervisors managing students' exam conduct working closely with the school to manage set-up of exam areas checking and organising exam materials before and after each exam managing conduct of approved disability provisions for students follow NESA's administrative and security procedures. Presiding officers must be available for the entire HSC exam period Essential Requirements The Presiding Officer must:
have a current Working with Children's Check (WWCC) clearance for employment use a vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy be available for the ENTIRE exam period have intermediate working knowledge of common computer programs and tasks, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails, downloading documents etc be well-organised have good attention to detail be able to effectively manage students and a team of supervisors The Presiding Officer will need to be available to administer the official external HSC Exams from Tuesday 15th October to Friday 8rd November 2024 as well as various other days for pre and post organisation as set down by NESA.
The Presiding Officer will also need to be available to administer other examination and test blocks at the College on the following dates:
Year 12 Topic Tests - Tuesday 2 April to Tuesday 9 April 2024 Year 12 Trial HSC Examinations - Monday 5 August to Tuesday 20 August 2024 Year 11 Examinations - Monday 16 September to Tuesday 24 September 2024 This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.

Special Notes The following restrictions on eligibility for employment as a Test Supervisor exist:
A person who has a child or near relative or friend sitting the 2024 Higher School Certificate Examinations cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer Clerical staff, casual, relief, part-time or permanent teachers employed at Santa Sophia Catholic College cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer The Organisation Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.
This position involves working with children.
