People Experience is the HR Operations team within Rio Tinto.
We provide frontline HR advisory support and coaching to leaders, making a real impact across our operations and functional teams.
Our team is one of the talent pathways for HR professionals looking to develop and extend their career into other areas of HR or the business.
With the planned 2025 People priorities and predicted team movements, we are looking to create a talent pipeline of HR generalists that would like to join the team.
Who we're looking for We're seeking expressions of interest from seasoned HR professionals with advisory experience who are ready for a new challenge in 2025.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will: Participating or leading multiple cross-functional initiatives, providing HR subject matter expert input and project leadership Imparting knowledge and your experiences to the team on their key areas of responsibility which include employee relations matters, building leader capability, HR systems and processes, facilitating organisational change and leading HR projects.
Providing guidance to the wider team and reporting to the senior leadership team on complex people matters.
Balancing busy workloads and complex stakeholder relationships and demonstrating your leadership capability through effectively engaging at all levels of the business.
Partnering with strategic HR Business Partners to identify and prioritise people priorities to support the business strategy, productivity and culture Lead a team of HR generalist What you'll bring 5+ years HR generalist experience You are an astute and well-rounded leader who has proven techniques in providing robust HR solutions to relieve pain points for leaders.
Ability to think strategically and approach solutions creatively and consider organisation-wide impacts.
Solid generalist HR and ER experience with extensive experience with case management.
Strong team leadership and influencing skills are essential for this role.
Significant experience in handling complex workplace investigations and providing guidance on performance management Capacity to operate effectively in a large, shared service human resources team Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, influencing, coaching, communication, negotiation and consultation Where you will be working These roles support the Iron Ore group for Rio Tinto.
Iron ore is the primary raw material used to make steel.
Steel is strong, long-lasting and cost-efficient – making it perfect for everything from washing machines to cars, bridges and skyscrapers.
We are one of the world's leading producers of iron ore. Our iron ore operations in the Pilbara comprise a world-class, integrated network of 17 iron ore mines, 4 independent port terminals, a 2,000 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure.
We produce these mainstream iron ore products in Western Australia, including Pilbara Blend, the world's most recognised brand of iron ore.
The roles range from Perth based, Perth based with regular site travel, FIFO or residential in Karratha.
We also offer flexible work arrangements.
